Bob is a neighbor and a friend. A few years ago, he retired from a career as a scientist at the EPA and started writing poetry as an avocation. In 2015, he followed my adventure cross country on my blog and was inspired by my story to write this poem. He had most of it done before I ever saw it, and I was amazed and humbled to have my journey transformed into this poem. What was so touching was how Bob’s poem, based on his study of my words and photos, captured so closely exactly what I experienced and felt.
